 無線傳輸效能測試

這次的測試過程可說是一波三折,原先以為 ASUS 提供測試的是 USB 介面的無線網卡,待正式拆封後才知道是 PCI-E 1x 介面的網卡,因筆者手上的電腦不是筆電就是 EeeBOX 等輕薄 PC 為主的桌機,這些電腦都無法接 PCE-AC66 測試,好不容易找到一台 Acer H340 的 NAS 內建有 PCI-E 插槽,可是似乎是相容性的問題,接上 PCE-AC66 後一開機就當了,最後只好向友人商借一台 ASUS CP6130 桌機,才順利完成測試工作。

測試環境:
Server:QNAP TS-459 Pro+ 
Client:ASUS CP6130
我們設定的環境是以一台 NAS 當 Server,接於 RT-AC66U 的 LAN port,另一台桌機則採用 ASUS CP6130 安裝 PCE-AC66 無線網卡當成 Client。Server 及 Client 兩者之間的直線距離約三公尺(中間無明顯障礙物),同時測試 5GHz 及 2.4GHz iperf 傳輸效率,供大家參考。

測試心得
依過去的測試經驗 802.11ac 傳輸瓶頸通常落在網卡介接規格上,而 ASUS PCE-AC66 採用了 PCI-E 介面改善了USB 2.0 傳輸瓶頸。不過就如同筆者前面所提到的測試窘境,PCI-E 等內接式介面未必是最普及的選擇,畢竟用筆電取代桌機的人也不在少數,更何況對一般使用者而言,若需要拆機才能夠安裝無線網卡,相對地也提高了使用者的購買意願及門檻,建議 ASUS 未來也能顧及多數使用者的環境,提供 USB 3.0 介面的 802.11ac  無線網卡。

雖然如此,筆者還是認為 RT-AC66U 無線路由器及 PCE-AC66 無線網路卡的搭配組合,已經突破以往的測試數據,實際測試傳輸速率可達到 400Mbps 以上,以現階段市場上各家推出的 802.11ac 組合商品而言,兩者的搭檔堪稱是無線 AC 黃金組合,適合有巨量資料需要無線傳輸需求的用戶參考。
